Don't Be a Prick!

Coffee Chat: vol IV.

Let's topic chat over coffee... topics I know you and I both can relate on! It goes deeper than an outfit post + I'll share what's going on in my life or beyond Styled by Sequins.

It's been a while since the last coffee chat on Styled by Sequins because it's been a super busy last couple of months. Today on coffee chat I'm getting pretty deep and real because I'm over pricks! There I said it!! As you can see the title of this coffee chat basically says it all... "Don't be a Prick" I hate to say it, but some people in this world need to hear it for themselves. Read on more... I promise this will make sense.

People can be pricks. Truth be told, with those kind of people, I've  learned to get out quick! Those relationships are "toxic" in your life are not worth it. Who has time for that? People will talk shit and assume all the time. People throw rude comments at you to break you and make you feel weak in order to make themselves feel better. Or throw religious jabs by counting how many times you've been present ...(some months are busy for us- if I'm being honest) Plus, last time I checked, who and why is someone keeping track? It's not their life to keep track of.

I asked myself the other day, how are these acts of evil Godly? How can someone who is a follower of Christ act in such a way? How are they being like Jesus when they themselves are throwing religious punches? Do we need to be like a cactus and have thicker skin? Jesus did when devish people spoke hurtful words.

I have come to the point in my life where I'm over impressing people so that I'm "accepted" in a group. The only person I need to impress and be accepted by is God himself.  I'm not perfect, I make mistakes, I might not come to everything I'm invited to, but I know who I am. God knows who I am because he created me to please him. I'm a daughter of the king and someone who has a good heart.  Sometimes we need to have thicker skin, like a cactus. I've learned to now be more like a cactus. Most important, I have learned I need to not care what any "toxic" person may think of me or "assume" about me. I'm not those things. I need to be more like a cactus. So long story short, Don't be a Prick to others! Treat others the way you would want to be treated.
